SMOKERS have been reminded to fully extinguish cigarettes before throwing them away, particularly in hot weather.
The appeal has been by North Wales Fire and Rescue Service following a bin fire in Prestatyn.
A fire crew from Prestatyn was called to the fire in Sandy Lane just before midnight on Tuesday July 2.
A spokesperson for the North Wales Fire and Rescue Service said: βIt is believed the fire was caused by a discarded cigarette. We would ask smokers to be careful to ensure their cigarettes are fully put out before discarding them, particularly in the current hot weather.β
