SPIDERMAN showed off his aerobatic skills during a school’s Summer fair.

The event was held on Brackley Avenue, in Colwyn Bay, by St Joseph’s Primary School’s Parent Teacher Association and St Joseph’s Church.

The day event featured Commando X Fit Assault Course, inflatables, fairground games, cake stalls and workshops.

Frankie May of Faerial Performances put on aerial workshops, which special guest Spiderman was more than happy to enrol in.

John Mulley, parent governor, said: “We had a terrific day. We had hundreds of visitors and raised over £3,500. This will be divided equally between the school and the church, with the latter putting its half of the funds towards refurbishment of the community centre.

“The fair is more than a fundraising event, it aims to bring together the school, the church and members of the wider community."

Staff and vehicles from the Royal Air Force Mountain Rescue Service, North Wales Police, the Ambulance Service, North Wales Fire and Rescue and St Johns Ambulance were in attendance.

Aberconwy and Colwyn NCT provided a baby feeding and changing tent and students from Bangor University bought along a selection of snakes, lizards, spiders and scorpions for ‘Meet a Creature’ sessions.

Thai Boxing and Rugby workshops were provided by The Immortals Gym and Colwyn Bay Rugby Club.

Steve Williams, former mayor of Colwyn Bay, attended and took part in the fairground games.

John added: "We rely heavily on sponsorship and are always humbled by the support our events receive from parents, teachers, parishioners and the wider community, as well as local businesses."
