LLANDUDNO and Moelfre lifeboats have been called to a yacht which had made a Mayday emergency call.
Both the Moelfre in shore lifeboat Enfys 2 and the Llandudno all weather lifeboat William F Yates, were tasked by Holyhead Coastguard rescue centre on Wednesday 31 July.
An RNLI spokesperson said: “Responding to the Mayday alert, both boats were launched to provide urgent assistance to a 31 feet long yacht which was having trouble in making headway and reported a malfunction of its navigational systems.
“The yacht, with a crew of two, was located approximately one mile north east of Porth Lynas off the Anglesey coast. The Enfys 2 arrived on scene minutes after launch and was able to transfer a crew member to the yacht to aid the stricken sailors.
“Following the arrival of the William F Yates, the yacht was escorted back to Moelfre to be placed on a safe mooring.”
