MEMBERS of Craig- y-Don and Llandudno bowling clubs played their annual Hospice Cup competition as a fundraising event for St David’s Hospice.
The event is now in its 10th year and over the years has raised thousands of pounds for local people with advanced illnesses or those in need of end of life care. In addition to the entry fees the members also gave donations and held a raffle. This year the competition has raied £750,
Craig-y-Don Bowling Club member, Brian Goldsmith, said: “Many of the members from both clubs have good reason to support the hospice as friends and relatives have been treated there.
“We are extremely lucky to have the hospice in Llandudno and we are all aware of the very large amount of money required to cover running costs so we try to help a little by staging this event.”
Conwy Area Fundraiser, James Wilde, said: “The two teams have been long time big supporters of ours and to see that record numbers have attended the event just shows that its popularity is growing.
“The money and awareness raised will go a long way towards supporting patients and their families here at the Hospice.”
