Denbighshire Friends of Childline Cymru, at North Wales’ only Childline Counselling Base at Prestatyn, organised their 16th annual Charity Walk,

a six and a half mile sponsored walk around the Great Orme, Llandudno, on Sunday the 11th of August 2019, to raise funds so that more callers can be spoken to by ChildLine Counsellors, and hopefully raised in the region of £320 on the day.

Nine ChildLine Supporters from all across North Wales started and finish their walk at The Cenotaph on the prom where Ian Turner provided music and chat throughout the event.

Chairman of Denbighshire Friends of Childline, Gerry Frobisher, who co-ordinated the walkers and collectors on the day, said “This was our 16th annual sponsored walk around the Great Orme, and each year we get committed walkers, who this year had the rain and wind to contend with for the walk. I must thank all nine walkers for their effort.

"I must thank Charlotte Frobisher for manning the start and finish point, Sharon Frobisher for manning the point on the West Shore. Ian Turner provided entertainment all day, as well as all the other volunteers and staff namely Michael Jackson and Julia Jones. My thanks too, go to the eight Young Dragons/Dreigiau Ifanc volunteers Charlotte Frobisher, Harriet Frobisher, Sarah, Rebecca, Abbi, Florence and Rhiannon Beaumont-Bullock, Florence and Isabella Connor, and Phillip Leonard who all gave up their Sunday to walk, collect and marshal for the day, it was a true team effort.”

“We have raised in the region of £320 from donations and extra registrations on the day and this money will be going towards answering more calls from young people who need the support of Childline”.
