RHUDDLAN Golf Club junior captain Caolan Burford has been rewarded for his exceptional form throughout the season with a national squad selection.
The highly touted prospect will be part of the Welsh youth junior set-up for two upcoming matches, and the call-up comes as a result of the teenager’s outstanding series of the performances in the Wales Junior Order of Merit.
Burford’s impressive list of accolades also include playing a leading role in the North Wales Boys’ victory over Cheshire on his home course recently, in addition to finishing a very creditable 14th at the Welsh Boys’ Championships in Carmarthen.
He will now join up with his new national teammates for a special contest against Surrey U15s at the prestigious Celtic Manor course from August 31-September 1, and Burford will also be testing his considerable skills in an eagerly anticipated fixture against fierce rivals England at U16 level next month.
