CONSTRUCTION work on the Lidl store planned for Llandudno Junction is due to start in the autumn.

The store has been delayed for a number of months, it was originally planned to have opened by Christmas 2018.

Now it is hoped to have the store will open by Summer 2020.

A spokesperson for Lidl said: “Pre-construction enabling works for the new Lidl store at Llandudno Junction are already underway. We can confirm that construction of the store is set to begin this autumn, with an expected opening date scheduled for Summer 2020.”

Cllr Sue Shotter, who represents the area on Conwy council welcomed the news. She said: “It has been a long wait, but it is important all the processes necessary for the store to go ahead are followed so progress can go ahead smoothly.

“I look forward to the store opening and the jobs it will bring are available.”
