THE King’s Head pub in Llandudno can go ahead with its popular outside music events due to a stay of execution by Conwy Council.

The authority had imposed a noise abatement order on the pub following complaints by neighbours which forced one event to be cancelled at 24 hours notice.

Following Stephen Reese, the landlord, making an appeal, the council has temporarily suspended the order. The effect of this is to allow two events to go ahead. They are Soul in the Sun on Sunday September 1 and a solo player during the Abergele, Llandudno and Conwy Real Ale Trail on Sunday September 28.

Stephen said: “I had a telephone call from the council which said I could go ahead with events while my appeal was pending. But I will ensure that the volume is kept low in consideration of the neighbours.”

During events earlier this year approximately £1,500 has been collected for St David’s Hospice, he added: “I hope we will be able to add to that total with these two forthcoming events.”
