A disqualified driver was spotted carrying out his new job – delivering for a Chinese takeaway.

Unfortunately for Michael Jones he was seen by the police officer who had been involved in the case which led to his being banned.

At Llandudno magistrates’ court, Jones, 60, of Maesdu Road, Llandudno, pleaded guilty to driving whilst disqualified in Norman Road on July 13.

The court heard that in April he was banned for 18 months for drink-driving and lost the two delivery jobs he had previously held.

His solicitor Graham Parry said his client knew he should not have driven but was simply trying to make ends meet.

Jones was banned for a further six months and ordered to carry out 150 hours of unpaid work. He must also pay costs of £85 and a £90 surcharge.
