MORE than 250 people gathered in the centre of Colwyn Bay to demonstrate against the proroguing of Parliament.
The protestors gathered together near the memorial clock site despite the threat of rain showers on Saturday August 31.
Jason Edwards, Liberal Democrat Parliamentary candidate for Aberconwy constituency said: “More than 250 people attended the demonstration protesting against the proroguing of Parliament from across Liberal Democrat, Labour, the Greens, Plaid Cymru, and the Conservative parties, with protestors of all ages. There were speakers from each party who spoke out against Brexit.
"The demonstration was arranged by North Wales for Europe. It was one of a number of protests across the United Kingdom. Another in North Wales was held in Bangor.
“Even a rain shower at the end of the meeting didn’t dampen spirits and it was a good natured demonstration. It was obviously encouraging to see so many people turn out to protest against the proroguing of Parliament.”
Bill Chapman, a Labour member of Conwy town council, who attended the meeting said: "Two things were discussed, the suspension of Parliament and the Prime Minister's view on Britain leaving the European Union.
"The demonstration was good natured and had a positive and constructive tone, and there was only one heckler."
