Anna McNuff, ambassador for Girlguiding UK, who is running barefoot the equivalent of 100 marathons through the UK barefoot, has visited Llandudno’s Ysgol y Gogarth on her route.

She was welcomed by lots of rainbows, brownies, guides, rangers and leaders from all over the area. She is running a total of 2,620 miles.

She talked to the girls about all the adventures she has been on like running with a 93 year old record breaking grandma in North America and cycling the mountain the Andes mountain range.

Anna said: “I am a proud ambassador for UK Girl Guiding, working alongside the organisation to visit as many guiding units on route as possible, speaking to girls of all ages about the joys of adventure and the great outdoors.”

Embracing adventure is a key theme of the charity’s updated programme, which includes badges for agility, fitness, navigator and sports. In meetings they can learn about camping and exploring with activities created to inspire all girls of all ages, from cooking over a tealight to navigating using the stars.
