RHUDDLAN Town maintained their advantage at the Vale of Clwyd and Conwy League Premier Division summit with a resounding 5-0 win at Cerrigydrudion.

The early pacesetters showcased their outstanding attacking prowess with another clinical display on their travels, extending what has already been an impressive start to the campaign from the title hopefuls.

Manager Wayne Hughes, said: “It was the perfect performance from the lads.

“We were a little sloppy at times, but we completely controlled the game from start to finish and unlucky not to come away with double figures.

“I was really pleased with that performance and if we play like that every week no one will match us. It’s a game we only drew 4-4 last season so massive improvements all round.”

The visitors got off to the best possible start when Jay Whitehouse fired in the opener after just three minutes after good work in the build-up by Jordan Bellham, and Town doubled their advantage soon after when Matty Rees made the most of some space to steer in another opportunity.

An injury to prolific forward Bellham was the only down point on the day just before the break, with the away side all-but sealing three points shortly following the interval when Connor Bucknall continued his excellent run of form in front of goal with a well-taken effort with 48 on the clock.

The returning Keiron Evans rounded off a superb individual display with his side’s fourth on 54 minutes, and the visitors completed the scoring after another sweeping attacking move presented Ian Davenport with the easiest of finishes with 75 gone.
