A RARE opportunity to enjoy to enjoy a portion of the vast oeuvre of Franz Schubert will delight classical music afficionados in Colwyn Bay.
Ensemble Cymru will a live performance of Schubert’s Octet for wind and strings at Theatr Colwyn on Wednesday, November 6 at 7.30pm.
Comprising six distinctive movements, the work showcases a composer with a unique flair for captivating melodies and harmonies.
To complement this work, Ensemble Cymru has commissioned a tribute to Schubert from Welsh composer, John Metcalf.
With its dreamy beauty, drawing inspiration from the beautiful Welsh folk melody, Bugeilio’r Gwenith Gwyn, Metcalf creates a fitting contemporary testament to Schubert’s lyrical brilliance.
Tickets are £15.20, with concessions available. To book visit theatrcolwyn.co.uk or by calling the box office on 01492 556677.
