LLANDUDNO’s Royal Naval Association branch is to celebrate its 50th anniversary with a flagship event on Trafalgar Day.

Former Royal Navy and Royal Marines personnel from branches of the Association in Liverpool, Manchester, Runcorn, Wrexham, Oswestry, Chester and the Isle of Man and the Midlands will travel to Llandudno to celebrate the anniversary and commemorate the immortal memory of Admiral Lord Nelson and those who fell with him, on Sunday October 20.

Matt Shields, spokesman for the branch said: “This is the flagship event of the year for our branch and has been for the last 50 year. The Mayor, cllr Angela O'Grady, will take the salute at a parade.

We will also dedicate of a memorial to past and present members and all those from the town and area who served in the Royal Navy and Royal Marines, especially our founder members from 50 years ago.

The branch will also hold a pre Trafalgar Night function: The Night Before, in the Ex Servicemen’s club to welcome the visitors.
