LLANDUDNO will count itself among 18 lucky places to welcome the return of 70s heartthrob David Essex in 2020.

The internationally renowned singer, composer and actor will head to Venue Cymru on Tuesday, October 6 2020 at 7.30pm as part of his first tour in four years where he will reacquaint his fans with much loved hits spanning his entire repertoire.

After shooting to fame in the London production of the musical Godspell as Jesus in 1971, Essex has enjoyed a remarkable career where has written, recorded and produced albums that have sold millions of copies worldwide including had twenty-three Top 30 singles in Britain alone.

These include the Grammy nominated Rock On and subsequent singles Lamplight, Hold Me Close and Gonna Make You A Star which made Essex a household name - as well as adorning the walls of many a besotted fan.

Mayhem ensued throughout the UK, with crowds for his concerts resembling Beatlemania and traffic stopping whenever he appeared.

Essex has continued to this day to produce and write albums including 2013’s Reflections and has contributed to stage and screen with the likes of Silver Dream Machine taken from Silver Dream Racer, in which he starred.

Add to that acting credits including a role in EastEnders as the head of the Moon family and a bestselling poetry book Travelling Tinker Man & Other Rhymes and two successful autobiographies, Essex is one of the few artistes in the world to have achieved success in all areas of entertainment.
