YOUNG pupils from a Colwyn Bay school have played football in the prestigious Manchester City academy.

The year two squad at Rydal Penrhos school took an exciting trip to the academy for a football festival organised by the Independent Association of Prep Schools. They recorded a wealth of victories, gaining valuable experience that is sure to stand them in good stead for future fixtures. Jamie McLeod, head of boys’ games, said: “Each member of the squad was a credit to themselves and everyone at Rydal Penrhos during another visit to one of the most impressive football academies anywhere in the world.

“They performed extremely well and played some very good football in the process, something that is going to do wonders for their overall development and cohesion as a group.”
