AN UNDERGROUND cable fault in Llandudno Junction forced power to be cut off to seven homes.

The fault was reported early this morning and North Wales Fire Service was called to the scene in Victoria Crescent. But there was no fire.

A spokesperson for Scottish Power said: “A fault developed in an underground cab, which gave off a carbon smell.

“The cable, under a pavement, was dug up and replaced. While this work was underway power was cut off the seven homes. The work was completed by early afternoon and the power was switched on.”
