WORK has recently been completed on the refurbishment of the bronze fusilier and plaques on the Colwyn Bay War Memorial.
The bronze on the memorial, in Queen’s Gardens, became tarnished over time and its renovation was funded by the Colwyn Bay town council. In addition a protective wax layer has been added, in preparation for the annual Service of Remembrance.
This year’s service, on Sunday November 10, will have a different format to that of recent years. It will commence with the church service in St Paul’s Church, Abergele Road, at 9:45am. Veterans, civic guests, local organisations and members of the congregation will march from St. Paul’s to Queen’s Gardens at approximately 10:45am to continue the service at the war memorial at 11am, followed by the laying of wreaths.
