THE head teacher at a Colwyn Bay school has completed a Royal Marines’ commando challenge.

Sally Harding, senior school head at Rydal Penrhos, was part of a team that took on the Royal Marines Commando’s five kilometre endurance course.

They were raising funds for Royal Marines and the Devon Air Ambulance Trust charities.

More than 1,000 entrants braved the Royal Marines’ own gruelling endurance training course, something usually reserved for recruits to complete to earn their coveted Green Beret.

On the course entrants tackled underwater and muddy obstacles, the submersed sheep dip, tunnels, mud and stream wades.

Mrs Harding has worked at the school for 30 years and was appointed head last January.
