COLWYN Bay fireworks display will be held on bonfire night at Eirias Park.

The event will start at 7.15pm with the bonfire lighting followed by the fireworks display at 7.30pm. The bonfire will be located outside of the boating lake.

The event has been organised by Colwyn Bay town council and Colwyn Bay fire station.

A spokesperson for the town council said: “Free parking will be available at the Civic Centre, North Wales Police Headquarters (Abergele Road), Eirias Arena, and the Promenade. Disabled Parking only will be available at Eirias High School. A disabled viewing area will be provided outside the Barn (accessed via the Arena car park - gate C), please call 01492 532248 to book a space, as numbers are limited.

“Traffic through the town is expected to be busy so please allow plenty of time to park and walk into the park. Pedestrian entry will be via the main park gates, the Civic Centre driveway or the Promenade.

“Entrance will be free, but there will be a cash collection on the night, with fifty per cent of all monies collected being given by the Fire Service to local charities.

“The event will go ahead whatever the weather (unless we have to call it off on safety grounds, for example: due to strong winds from a southerly direction). Rain will not prevent the event from going ahead.”
