Kind-hearted Hairdressing students from Coleg Llandrillo’s Rhos-on-Sea campus bedecked themselves in an array of yellow clothing, joining thousands of people in saying #HelloYellow to support children and young people’s mental health on World Mental Health Day.

To commemorate the global initiative, thousands of schools, offices, companies and community groups wore yellow to raise vital funds and awareness for the YoungMinds’ charitable campaign.

Coleg Llandrillo Hairdressing tutor Wendy Jones said: “They took the challenge to heart, with nearly 70 students paying £1 to wear yellow. We have already been presented with a certificate by the charity, which takes pride of place in our reception.”

A representative from YoungMinds said: “A big thank you to all those who took part in #HelloYellow." From all the yellow outfits, to the yellow cake sales and games, we were thrilled to see so many of you take part in #HelloYellow. These messages helped spread the word that, whatever you’re going through, you can talk to someone if you’re struggling to cope.”

YoungMinds is leading the fight for a future where all young minds are supported and empowered, whatever the challenges. It is here to make sure young people get the best possible mental health support and have the resilience to overcome life’s difficulties. Three children in every classroom have a mental health problem!
