St David’s Hospice will be responsible for organising this year’s Conwy Christmas Tree Festival.

The charity will be working with Daisy Chain Floral Design and St Mary’s Church, with all proceeds going towards the Hospice.

Now in its second year, the week long celebration will take place between Monday December 2 and Sunday December 8 and will see St Mary’s Church in the centre of Conwy, filled with trees decorated from top to toe.

Last year, the trees were of all shapes and sizes decorated by local businesses and community groups and were ladened with a variety of ornaments from traditional baubles and angels, to poppies, toy trucks and snowflakes made from wooden spoons and forks.

Adrian Owen, the hospice’s Conwy community fundraiser said: “This is a lovely event for the entire town to get involved with. The trees last year were fantastic. It was amazing to see how creative everyone can be, and I am really looking forward to seeing this year’s creations.

“During the week the church will be open to the public to view the trees.

On Tuesday December 3 there carols around the tree will be sung at 6pm with mulled wine; Juan Smith will be playing the lute on Thursday and Saturday, and on Friday Ysgol Porth Y Felin School choir will perform a lunchtime concert from 12.30pm.”

Alongside the daily events, a charity raffle will run throughout the week with tickets available at Daisy Chain on the High Street, Conwy.

If you are a local Conwy business or group who would like to take part the cost to each entry will be £20.

You will need to provide your own tree, all decorations and lighting (optional – ideally battery operated). For further information please contact Adrian Owen 01492 873664.
