RHYL have been forced to postpone next Friday’s home clash with Flint Town United due to ongoing floodlight problems.

The Lilywhites’ have encounter numerous problems regarding lighting at the Educate Group Stadium during the course of the campaign, and club officials are now in the process of rearranging a date for the fixture against a side expected to push Prestatyn Town close for the title this term.

In addition to the rearranged dates, including the one with former manager Niall McGuinness originally scheduled for this weekend, the Lilies’ will be working with the league on scheduling earlier kick-off times to avoid health and safety concerns.

A club statement, said: “As supporters will be aware a number of games have now been rescheduled for the forthcoming weeks at the Educate Group Stadium.

“The club have encountered issues with the floodlights this season. These have now got to the stage where the club has had to take a difficult decision with regard to hosting games under the lights to ensure games can be completed and that the health and safety of supporters are not put at unnecessary risk should failures occur.

“The club are evaluating all options in the short and medium term to resolve this issue with the floodlights and any offers of assistance would be gratefully received.

“As part of this we will be seeking to work with the JD Cymru North League to review future kick off times to avoid the use of the floodlights at the ground.

“Any further amendments to fixtures will be announced on social media and circulated to the local press.

“Everyone at the Rhyl Football Club fully appreciates the situation is far from ideal but given the current circumstances there is no alternative option in the short term.”
