WREXHAM residents have been invited to get into the Christmas spirit and decorate a town's festive tree.

Cllr Marc Jones, of Rhosddu, will be taking the delivery of the Christmas tree on November 30 and he is asking members of the community to come along and help to decorate it.

He said he hopes members will join him to decorate the tree in a 'real community effort' by bringing 'baubles, tinsel and ingenuity'.

He added: "Children are especially welcome.

"Last year was the first time we'd had a Christmas tree in Rhosddu and it turned out to be a great success with many people decorating it.

"With the help of a local resident, I've managed to get a bigger tree this year and we'll be looking to make more of an impression with the help of local people and children in particular."

Families can meet by the laundrette on Rhosddu Roat at 10am on Saturday, November 30 to spread the festive cheer.
