LLANDUDNO museum will be celebrating the history of the town’s Jewish community with two events.

The museum is working in partnership on this project with Bangor University and Menter Fachwen.

The museum will be seeking memories of the community from members of the public at a drop in session on Thursday December 5 from 12 noon until 7pm at St John’s church hall.

It will be asking what people remember of the Jewish community. It will pose questions such as: did you shop in one of the many Llandudno businesses run by Jewish people, such as Wartski's or Lazar's, or did you work there. Or did you worship at the synagogue or maybe work in a kosher guesthouse?

The public can drop in any time during the day and share memories, bring photographs and memorabilia to help up a knowledge base of Llandudno's fascinating Jewish community. The museum will be using what you share to develop a package of walks, talks, leaflets and apps.

The second event will be on Sunday December 8, which will be a history walk, based on Llandudno’s Jewish community, and will include interesting sites around town. It will start at 11am outside the town hall.
