A FLAMING torch light parade will be held around the streets of Conwy for the 10th year running.
The parade, which has been organised by Conwy’s chamber of trade will start at 5.45pm next Saturday, and it is hoped there will be more than 100 torch bearers will bring light to the town.
The event starts at 4.00pm on Saturday December 14 with fire performers Inferno in Lancaster Square and at 4.45 there will be sword fighting with flaming swords.
The parade will start at Castle Square and will travel down Castle Street, up the High Street and finish in Lancaster Square.
Toby Tunstall, of the chamber of trade explained people are encouraged to wear medieval costume, said: “The parade is organised to encourage visitors to come to a free event in Conwy and see what the town has to offer. Conwy is a wonderful town for Christmas shopping as it has so many individually owned shops selling unusual items.
“The parade will include the morris dancing group Clerical Error who will bring lots of colour and music to the event. They will be complemented by fire performers from Inferno and drummers from Batala Bangor.”
He added: “We started the event ten years ago with about a dozen torches - it has grown year by year and now, in our 10th year we have more than 100 torches.”
