FATHER and Mother Christmas gave their reindeers a rest arriving by train for a magical parade in Llandudno.

The pair came to town to take part in the seasonal spectacle which started from the town's railway station on Saturday.

The parade proceeded from the station, up Vaughan Street, to Mostyn Street, into Lloyd Street, down Madoc Street, Augusta Street and back to the station.

There was plenty of entertainment to keep the crowds amused outside the Town Hall and along the busy streets.

Sherlock Holmes, a Llandudno Storm Trouper and an English gent on a penny farthing were spotted amid those in fancy dress.

Alice in Wonderland characters also joined the merry throng along with pixies on roller skates and Holy Trinity Church members dressed as nativity characters.

There was a Christmas market, food and craft stalls and lots of music and song, mulled wine and mince pies, to keep the crowds in a jolly mood.

Entertainment included the Llandudno Town Band, Ysgol John Bright, Ysgol Blessed William Davies Choir, St David's College, Tenovous Choir, Disney Princesses and the Batala Bermo Samba Band.

The honour of the Christmas lights switch on fell to the Mayor of Llandudno Cllr Angela O'Grady.

She flicked the switch filling the streets with colourful lights and festive cheer.
