AN APPEAL has been launched for information about an attempted break in at Colwyn Bay pier trust shop.

The shop in Penrhyn Road, Colwyn Bay, was attacked overnight. Glass in the door was smashed and a failed attempt was made to force the door.

Martin Austin, one of the shop managers said: “I arrived at 8.30am to find the glass door smashed in, in several places. It had obviously been hit with considerable force as glass splinters were thrown yards back into the shop.

“The door was also damaged where an attempt had been made to lever it open.

“It has been reported to the police and forensic officers have been here to collect evidence.”

He added: “We would like to make an appeal for anyone who might have seen the attempted break in or have any information to contact us either by coming into the shop or through our Facebook page at: https://www.facebook.com/ColwynBayVictoriaPierShop/”.
