AS another busy year in Pontio, Bangor’s arts venue comes to an end, the centre’s cinema is bringing back a few of its personal choices of best films of the year.
It is also giving over the majority of the schedule to fill its Christmas film stocking full of festive treats for young and old this December.
Frozen 2 sits on top of the tree as the major holiday attraction. On December 14, the centre is offering an afternoon of free Frozen-inspired craft activities between 12-5.30pm, alongside two screenings of Frozen 2, at 11am and 2pm.
The traditional Nutcracker from the Royal Opera House is on Tuesday, December 17 and Daniel Craig is an Agatha Christie inspired sleuth, in the entertaining thriller Knives Out . Pontio’s eternal Christmas cracker Withnail and I is on Wednesday, December18.
Emyr Glyn Willams, Pontio’s Cinema Co-ordinator, said: “As well as specific festive films we want to also give people another chance to catch screenings of some of the best films released over the previous 12 months.
“The joyful Italian Summer fable Happy as Lazzaro will be most welcome in the depths of a dark winter. With scores of brand new shiny cinematic presents arriving in January (Star Wars, Cats, 1917 and Little Women.)
"We thank you all for supporting our venue and keeping the cinematic flame alive – there really is no better way of enjoying a film, is there?!” Visit: www.pontio.co.uk for more details.
