TWO dogs found locked in a Colwyn Bay house survived by drinking toilet water.
Investigations by police and animal welfare charity RSPCA are underway after the animals were discovered with no food or water after a female resident was evicted.
North Wales Police Rural Crime Team Tweeted on Friday:
"Sad day for the team today. Joint investigation with the RSPCA at a house in Colwyn Bay where a female has been evicted and left her two dogs behind and locked in with no food or water.
"Both survived drinking toilet water. Poorly but being treated Let's hope a happy ending."
Rural Crime Team Manager Rob Taylor said "No more details can be given at this time as an investigation is currently underway."
