A GROUP of Oxford University students, including one from Knighton, have recorded a hilarious music video of them belting out a medley of hits from Frozen.

Out of the Blue, an all-male a capella group at the top university, performed a medley of tunes from the Disney film and its smash hit sequel to raise money for charity.

Every year the boys release a Christmas charity single that have been viewed millions of times online, and their newest clip features the blue-suited boys performing Let It Go, Do You Want To Build A Snowman and Into the Unknown.

The video shows the boys in many of Oxford's iconic locations, like the Bodleian library and the Bridge of Sighs, belting out the kids' film hits to raise money for children with terminal diseases.

The singing group are hoping to raise as much money for Helen and Douglas House, the oldest children's hospice in the world.

Out of the Blue president Rory Naylor, 20, from Knighton, said: "We're all around university age so we were the right age when the original Frozen came out.

"Obviously, we fell in love with the soundtrack as it's incredible.

"We saw the sequel was coming out this year and so it works in terms of marketability.

"We all went as a group to the cinema to watch Frozen 2 and half of us cried. We loved the songs so it made a lot of sense to cover them this year."

Rory, a medicine student in his third year, said the all-male choir is "actually more competitive to get into the group than to get into Oxford University itself."

He said: "It's so competitive.

"It's a three-round audition process over the first week of term.

"We then have a secret initiation process and then they're in.

"The initiation is actually quite tame and cute, but it's very secret."

After the group is formed every year, the new members' first gig is for the Helen and Douglas House.

Rory added: "It's the highlight of the year for me. All of the proceeds from this single go to Helen and Douglas House.

"Kids dance and move around, they're always really cheerful. It's lovely."

Out of the Blue, which has been featured on Britain's Got Talent and Pitch Battle, has donated over £100,000 to the charity over the last five years.

All proceeds go to the charity, with the boys collecting with buckets in shows throughout the year.

The group is also notable for providing a safe space for gay, bi and trans men at Oxford University.

Rory said: "As a queer man myself, it's important to me as president to continue representing the community and making content that would show us off a bit.

"A lot of modern a capella is quite serious and Out of the Blue tries to push the boundaries in terms of being an Oxford University society.

"We don't want to come across as nerdy Oxford students.

"We want to come across as accepting people regardless of how they identify, regardless of background. We try to be as inclusive and as fun as possible."

The Frozen medley has already received a lot of positive responses, and the Out of the Blue president said he expects to hear feedback from the people who made the films.

Rory said: "We've got a contact with Chris Burke who directed Frozen and Frozen 2 so we're waiting to hear what he thinks.

"If Idina Menzel, who sings Elsa's parts, saw it, now that would be the dream."
