A MAN has died in a house fire in Colwyn Bay.

The man, 52, was found inside his flat following the fire on Greenfield Road on the morning of Tuesday, January 7.

Three fire crews from Colwyn Bay, Abergele and Llandudno were called to the incident, and remained on scene into the afternoon. The cause of the fire is now under join investigation by North Wales Fire and Rescue and Police.

A spokesperson for Fire said: "We were called to a report of the fire at a property in Greenfield Road, Colwyn Bay at 10.17am.

"The body of a 52 year-old man was found inside the property by firefighters."

North Wales Police officers were in attendance at the scene assisting the three fire crews, including closing Greenfield Road in both directions as well as Erskine Road. An ambulance crew also assisted.

A spokesperson for the Welsh Ambulance Service said: “We were called on Tuesday, January 7 at approximately 10.21 am to reports of a house on fire on Greenfield Road, Colwyn Bay. We responded with one rapid response vehicle.”
