RESIDENTS and motorists are being warned to expect strong winds of up to 70mph across several areas – including North Wales and Chester.

The Met Office has issued a yellow warning for rain across areas including all counties in North Wales and Chester.

It comes into effect at 3am on Thursday morning and will last until 6pm the same evening – 15 hours in total.

According to the Met Office, there is a small chance of longer journey times or cancellations as road, rail, air and ferry services are affected. There is also a chance that some roads and bridges could close.

Warnings also say that there is a slight chance that power cuts may occur, with the potential to affect other services, such as mobile phone coverage.

There is a small chance that injuries and danger to life could occur from beach material being thrown onto sea fronts, coastal roads and properties.
