VENUE Cymru is playing host to a range of arts and literature workshops as the takepART event arrives in Llandudno once more this weekend.

Yesterday and today, more than 300 workshops, drop-ins, talks and performances have kept and are keeping guests entertained.

The event follows on from last year’s hugely successful takepART session which attracted some 10,000 people through Venue Cymru’s doors.

takepART, now in its eleventh year, is aimed at youngsters up to the age of eighteen and their families.

This year's festival line-up included dance classes from The Royal Ballet, based around their production of ‘Alice’s Adventures in Wonderland’, a Harry Potter festival event celebrating the magical world of the boy wizard and a talk from takepART patron Jonny Duddle, who illustrated the Harry Potter books.

The Oscar-winning company Aardman Animations also ran model-making sessions and children’s author Andy Cope, who penned the hit ‘Spy Dog’ series, talked about his canine creation.

Sarah Ecob, artistic programmer of take pART, said: “I would like to thank our funding partners the Arts Council of Wales, Conwy Arts Trust and Llandudno Town Council for once again enabling Venue Cymru to run this event.”
