A CALL has been made for a Welsh Government organisation dedicated to supporting business to achieve more for Aberconwy.

Business Wales has assisted with the creation of 77 new enterprises in the area in 57 months. Janet Finch-Saunders, AM for Aberconwy, said: “When considering Business Wales is the Welsh Government’s arm dedicated to supporting businesses, it should be achieving much more. It should be nurturing enterprise even more.

"This is not the first time I have had to call for the need for Business Wales to be more effective in Aberconwy. So I will continue challenging the Minister for Economy on actions that can be taken to boost business here”.

A Welsh Government spokesperson said: “More than 160 new businesses have started in the Conwy Council area with support from Business Wales since April 2015. Nine out of 10 Business Wales customers say they would recommend the service to a friend and we continue to look at ways the service can directly support more firms and entrepreneurs over the coming years.”
