LONG serving, favourite funny man John Evans will return to Llandudno’s Venue Cymru for Aladdin, next Christmas’ panto.

With a comedy career spanning 30 years, John has gained numerous plaudits from his peers, critics and audiences the world over, entertaining thousands of people every year on stage, screen and in pantomime.

Aladdin marks John’s 11th pantomime in Llandudno’s, as he makes a welcome return to Venue Cymru having spent the last three festive seasons at the Liverpool Empire. This year’s production will be the third time he has helped make Aladdin’s wishes come true and will star as his hapless, hilarious brother, Wishee Washee.

His previous Venue Cymru pantomime credits include Peter Pan, Dick Whittington, Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs and Sleeping Beauty, starring alongside the likes of Craig Revel Horwood, Gareth Thomas and Jimmy Osmond.

He has appeared in a wide variety of venues, from appearing in front of 6,000 people at the Liverpool Echo Arena to performing in front of 500 soldiers in a tent in the Belize jungle. His television credits include Granada TV’s Upfront, Stand and Deliver and The Comedians, similarly featuring on the subsequent DVD The Best of the Comedians.

John said: “I’m really happy to be coming back to Llandudno, my panto home from home. I’m delighted to be celebrating my 11th year at Venue Cymru and to be working with the amazing team in Llandudno once again”.

Richard Jones, Marketing Manager for Venue Cymru said: “Our audiences spoke, and we listened. We’re delighted to be welcoming John back. I can already hear the rapturous applause he’ll get when he steps back onto our stage. We’re in for another terrific panto season made even better by the return of our comedy king”.
