LLANDUDNO Lifeboat went to the assistance of a fisherman in Rhos-on-Sea during Storm Ciara.

An RNLI spokesman said: “The inshore lifeboat Dr. Barbara Saunderson with her volunteer crew launched at Rhos on Sea harbour in the most demanding conditions to assist the fisherman who was having difficulty returning to shore after undertaking urgent maintenance on his 20 ft long fishing vessel.

“Following the short operation, the inshore lifeboat and her crew returned safely to the Lifeboat Station at Craig-y-Don to be made ready for service again.

“This kind of rescue demonstrates how even a normally routine task can suddenly create unforeseen difficulties during storm conditions”.
