A ROAD in the Conwy County has been shut this morning.

Conwy County Borough officials have confirmed that the B5106 between Llanrwst and Gwydir is closed.

The area has suffered severe flooding in recent weeks and with more heavy downpours taking place today, safety precautions are being put into place.

Natural Resources Wales (NRW) have issued a flood warning for River Conwy at Gwydir Road.

They say that, in addition to the area detailed, some localised flooding problems may result from surface water, with Gwydir Road and B5106 between Llanrwst and Refriw highlighted as two possible areas which may be affected.

River levels are above normal and NRW will continue to monitor the situation.
