FLOOD alerts have been put in place for areas across North Wales as more wet weather is expected after Storm Dennis.

Natural Resources Wales issued a number of flood alerts on Thursday, February 20 amid concerns over rising river levels and surface water flooding.

Flood alerts are in place for the Upper Dee Valley from Llanuwchllyn to Llangollen, including Corwen and the Upper Dee flood plain; the River Conwy at Gwydir Road in the Conwy Valley; and the North Gwynedd catchment, including areas near rivers from Abergwyngregyn to Aberdaron.

A flooding warning remains in place for the Lower Dee Valley from Llangollen to Trevalyn Meadows.

NRW advice for flood alerts urges residents to avoid walking, cycling or driving through flood water; prepare a flood plan and kit of essential items; and move property away from areas likely to flood.
