TWO women are in hospital with 'serious, life threatening injuries' after being hit by a vehicle in Abergele.
The incident happened on Market Street on Monday, February 24 at about 11am.
The collision involved a white coloured Mercedes Sprinter Van.
A 60-year-old male driver of the van failed a roadside drugs test after testing positive for cocaine.
He has since been released under investigation whilst officers await the result of further tests.
Sergeant Emlyn Hughes of the Roads Policing Unit said: “The area was quite busy around the time of the collision so we are appealing to anybody who may have witnessed the incident, or anybody who may have been travelling and who may have dash cam to come forward.”
A Welsh Ambulance Service spokesperson said: “We were called to a reported road traffic accident on Market Street, Abergele, on Monday, February 24 at approximately 10.56am.
“We sent a paramedic in a rapid response vehicle and two emergency ambulances. Two patients were taken to Glan Clwyd Hospital.”
