THE ribbon has been cut on an established business family's latest venture in Prestatyn.

At a grand opening event earlier this month, shoppers took the aisles of the recently refurbished One Stop on Ffordd Ffynon, which has undergone a complete make-over including a larger shop floor, a new interior and an increased emphasis of sourcing produce locally.

The refurbishment coincides with the store’s new stance as a franchised business under Philip Whiteside – whose family have run multiple businesses in the area over the past 45 years - with the chain, which has than 900 stores across the country.

Mr Whiteside said: “We now sell local Henllan Bakery products and village bakery sausage rolls, pies and pasties, meaning we are able to support the small community that supports us.

“We’ve already had some wonderful feedback from our regular shoppers, as well as a number of new faces through the door who have heard about the changes.”

To mark the grand opening, customers were treated to giveaways, a raffle, activities to join into and face painting for the kids, as well as the opportunity to browse the new-look store.

John Miller, head of franchise at One Stop said: “We have been delighted to assist the Whitesides in their transition to a franchise.

“By becoming one of our franchised stores, One Stop, Prestatyn, will continue to stock the best value produce with the support of the One Stop team as well as inject a little Welsh flair into their products alongside.”
