Community organisations, the Council and an MP have joined forces to launch the 'Hyndburn Hub'.
The Hub is part of the governments initiative to create a nationwide support network.
In addition to preparing to support and distribute essential supplies to over 2,000 identified vulnerable residents in the ‘shielding’ group, the Hyndburn Hub have also implemented a network of support for the wider community.
This network includes approved organisations, groups and businesses who are able to support other members of the local community - not categorised as part of the Government’s most vulnerable 2.5million.
Through the communications network and dedicated team all individuals will be signposted to the relevant support service and offered assistance when required.
