WORK on key projects around Newtown is to resume after the Welsh Government’s slight easing of lockdown restrictions allowing construction to take place.

The news means developments such as the Sunshine Playground can resume.

A spokesman for Open Newtown said: “Over the next few weeks you may notice contractors working again around the new children’s play park area.

“This week we expect to see a ground investigation team working independently, completing core drilling, impact tests and drainage percolation tests, all for the new Riverside Venue.

“Nearby you may see the Powys County Council appointed contractor completing path widening works, laying new tarmac, as part of their Active Travel improvements.

“Next week we hope to see the return of the team from Sunshine Playground to carry on construction work for the new play park development.

“We will be working with all contractors to ensure that social distancing measures are adhered to and we ask that the public keep their distance also.

“As always, if you have any queries then please email contact@opennewtown.org.uk”
