A HUSKY owner has had to pay compensation to a farmer after its dog attacked and killed a sheep.
Earlier today (May 27), the North Wales Police Rural Crime team said a husky was put to sleep after the incident that happened on the Great Orme in Llandudno.
They have since updated their statement, and confirmed the Husky was not euthanized but compensation was paid to a farmer as part of the Community Resolution process.
Posting an update on Twitter, a spokesperson for the Rural Crime Team said: "We can confirm that the Husky wasnt euthanized yesterday following the livestock attack on the Great Orme, however compensation was paid to the farmer by the dog owner.
"However one sheep was euthanized due to the injuries caused.
"There are no winners with these attacks."
North Wales Police Rural Crime Team labelled what happened as 'a sad day'.
