YET another controlled burn has taxed vital emergency service resources during lockdown.

Despite multiple recent pleas from the North Wales Fire and Rescue Service to cease burning of rubbish and garden waste, crews from Cerrigydrudion and Betws-y-Coed were to an incident on Sunday, June 7.

The crews spent more than 30 minutes containing the fire, which had spread to nearby trees.

called to contain a fire that had gone out of control on Sunday, June 7.

A spokesperson for fire said: "We were called to an incident on the A5 near Betws-Y-Coed on Sunday at 3.59pm.

"The fire was caused by a controlled burning that had gone out of control.

"The stop was received at 4.31pm."
