PEOPLE in Wales will be able to visit non-essential retailers such as Next next week - but those wanting to shop at Primark will have to wait a little longer.

Next outlets in North Wales will be reopening next week - and there will be a few changes in store.

The chain's outlet on the Broughton Shopping Park will be opening on Monday.

However, shoppers in Wrexham's Eagles Meadow and Prestatyn Shopping Park will have to wait a little longer as those stores are scheduled to open on Tuesday.

North Wales Pioneer:

The first change shoppers will notice is that stores will have limited capacity, meaning only a certain number of customers and staff will be in the shop at any time to ensure everyone has plenty of space.

This may lead to queuing outside the shops, where again social distancing will be observed.

Once inside, customers will be asked to follow floor markings to make sure everyone remains two metres apart.

In shops there will be dedicated hand sanitising stations, and checkouts will be fitted with protective screens to protect both staff and customers.

Only card payments will be accepted for the time being, and contactless returns can be made at any checkout.

Shoppers wanting to visit Primark, where large queues have been seen outside stores in England, will have to wait a little longer.

The clothing chain, which has branches at Broughton, Llandudno and Wrexham, has not yet set a date to open its shops in Wales.

North Wales Pioneer:

A Primark spokesperson said: “We are still working through our plans for re-opening in Wales and can confirm that we have not announced an official re-opening date for Primark in Wales.

"Nothing matters more to us than the health and wellbeing of our employees and customers. That is why we will only re-open our stores in Wales once we are convinced that it is safe and right to do so. We are closely following all safety advice from government and will treat this as the minimum standard across all our stores."
