AN TEMPORARY alternative has been set up for book lovers as libraries begin to restart services.
Conwy’s Libraries team have arranged for drop boxes to be placed at a number of locations for library members to return their books ahead of the launch of a Call and Collect service for new loans in the coming weeks.
There will be no fines for books dropped off, with boxes available at all libraries at 10am until 12pm at all libraries in the county on Thursdays and a Fridays. The boxes will also be available at libraries Abergele, Colwyn Bay, Conwy, Llandudno and Llanrwst.
Cllr Dr Mark Baker, Conwy’s Cabinet Member for Arts, Heritage and Culture said, “As an active library user, I’m delighted that we are taking the first steps towards the phased re-opening of Conwy’s library services.
“In the next few weeks, we’ll be providing a call and collect service at all our libraries. To prepare for that, please return your books so we are ready to go.”
