GROUNDWORK Training has adapted their service during the pandemic lockdown by offering online courses and distance learning.

Groundwork Training is part of Groundwork North Wales which has been providing comprehensive training services since 2014, covering topics such as health and safety, food safety, safeguarding, first aid amongst many others.

Back in early March when lockdown was looming the team started to look at how they would be able honour their commitments to existing clients and continue their training courses with social distancing measures in place. It was through this that they are now able to offer all of their courses online and through distance learning.

Louise Stokes, training programme development manager at Groundwork Training said: “It was key for us to be able to continue offering the training courses to our clients during this time and as we are a not for profit organisation supporting Groundwork North Wales, in what has been a testing time for all third sector organisations."

Groundwork Training work with local organisations such as Sport Wales.

Steve Morgan, operations director for Sport Wales had 14 participants booked for a two day classroom based L3 Mental health First Aid which was switched to an online session.

He added: "The course was originally supposed to be a two day classroom based course. However, due to the Covid-19 restrictions it was run virtually.

"The course was well structured and managed by the tutor, with a good balance of self study, group discussion and presentations.

"A very enjoyable course on a difficult subject matter and I would highly recommend the Groundwork Training team."

Groundwork Training is part of Groundwork North Wales a charity which focuses on social, economic, environmental, and cultural projects for the benefit of communities across North Wales.

As part of Groundwork North Wales Groundwork Training act as a not for profit organisation with all profits from the training services reinvested for the benefit of the local communities in North Wales.
