A picture shared by Llanfyllin Fire Station shows an overturned blue Peugeot 3008 and a Range Rover Discovery wedged on a narrow country lane.

Zoie Hipkiss commented on the Llanfyllin Fire Station Facebook page: "Can I just say thank you to the fire brigade, police and paramedics and the passers by who stopped to help my family in this accident!

"It’s one of those unfortunate accidents where no one was really to blame, the main thing is that everyone is OK! A car can be replaced but lives can’t!"

Shropshire Fire and Rescue Service said it received a call at 3pm reporting that a road traffic collision had taken place near Oswestry.

A statement said: "Two fire appliances were mobilised from Oswestry. Request from Mid & West Wales Fire Service to assist at road traffic collision".
