A COVID-19 outbreak at an Anglesey poultry plant has been declared "over" by health chiefs.

More than 220 cases of the virus associated with 2Sisters site in Llangefni were confirmed by Public Health Wales in recent weeks.

But on Saturday Dr Christopher Williams, incident director for the novel coronavirus (COVID-19) outbreak response at Public Health Wales, said: "There have been no further cases associated with the 2 Sisters factory in Llangefni.

"Therefore the multi-agency Outbreak Control Team has declared the outbreak over."

Speaking of current incidents, Dr Williams also said there is "no evidence of widespread transmission in the Wrexham community."
